To enable this feature, simply go to "System Preferences", "Keyboard & Mouse", then "Trackpad". Here you will find an option to enable clicking with the trackpad. When you do so you will also be able to right-click by tapping the track pad with two fingers at once. With newer model MacBook Pro laptops the entire track pad is a button, meaning clicking is available by default.

You can easily scroll with the track pad by dragging two fingers up, down left or right in the direction you'd like to scroll. Many documents and programs allow zooming, which can be done by making a pinching motion on the track pad. To zoom out, simply do the same motion in reverse. Rotating two fingers on the track pad, like turning a knob, allows you to rotate some documents.
